From Usk to Doreen and Everywhere in Between: The Life of Artist Elizabeth Linda Lowrie Along the Skeena River

An exhibit of the paintings and family history of Elizabeth Lowrie.  The curator, Judy Thompson, granddaughter of the artist, describes the exhibit: “I situate Granny through her parents and grandparents.  She was Gisk’haast from Gitksigyukla on her mother’s side and British Canadian on her father’s side.   She grew up along the Skeena River, in the small communities of Usk and Doreen.  Through her art, we learn about who she was, her connection to place and her relationships with her family through the creations she made.
